In 1994, I had just gotten engaged to my wife Stacey and we decided to purchase our first home. We started looking at homes, but nothing really caught our eye; it was either the wrong layout, size, cost, or location. To meet our specific needs, we decided to start looking into building our own home. Some of the factors we had to consider were budget, the style of house, a builder, and square footage. The most important question was what type of home, a stick built home with some type of siding or a brick home. It never dawned on us about possibly building a log home. It wasn't until one day while spending some quiet and relaxing time at my brother's log home that we realized that we really enjoyed the atmosphere of a log home. After deciding that a log home life style was our primary goal, we began researching log home companies,

it was Heritage Log Homes.

As a designer at Ford Motor Company, I was very impressed with the technical innovations they had incorporated into their homes. One of the many things that impressed me about Heritage was their "Thru-bolting" fastener system, as well as their patented double tongue & grove through the saddle notch in the log corners. Other important items were their Limited Lifetime Warranty and their in-house architecture department. This department allows Heritage to design practically any type of layout that falls into design criteria with their system. Other advantages include homeowners having the flexibilty to purchase optional packages from Heritage or from a local suppliers.

I was so impressed with Heritage and their product, I became an authorized dealer for Heritage Log Homes. In 1997, I left Ford Motor Company and began working full-time with the staff at Heritage Log Homes. Currently, under our dealership we have sold over 110 log homes and achieved dealer of the year 4 times. At Heritage Log Homes of Michigan, we base our company on superior customer service.

What does customer service mean to us?

It starts at listening to our client's wishes on their new project and helping them get their ideas onto our CAD system. This is so we can provide them with a log home designed to meet their needs. Another step is helping our client establish a budget for their log home. We have a detailed question sheet that compiles questions regarding site conditions, types of foundations, heating, cooling, electrical, types of finishing material, wall and floor coverings, kitchen cabinets, appliances, fireplaces, and more. Another important question is who's going to assemble the log home? We are here to help you answer these questions so you feel confident about the new log home you are going to be a part of. Our services don't stop there, we are also there when your log home is delivered and we will be there when the first log is being laid down. Once your log home is dried-in, we are there if you have further questions about any of the other facets of log homes.
